DEFINITION OF CASE OR RECORD
Suspected or confirmed communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, lyme disease, sexually transmitted diseases, escherichia coli infection, meningitis, rabies, and others
WHEN AND HOW DATA ARE COLLECTED
Cases and suspected cases of reportable diseases are reported directly to the Division of Epidemiology and Vital Statistics. Reporting is required by the following:
physicians and other health care providers, people in charge of any institution, public or non-public schools, child care agencies, hotels, restaurants, boarding houses, labor camps or other camps, vessels, workplaces, hospitals, dispensaries, pharmacies, charitable, penal, or other institutions or places of detention, local boards of health, and diagnostic laboratories ( human or animal specimens).
WHEN DATA ARE AVAILABLE FOR ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
1-2 years after the close of the calendar year
